Choose an audio-translation workflow by the output you need. A translated transcript, timed subtitles, a dubbed video and live conversation assistance require different controls and evaluation.
Choose the output first
| Need | Important control |
|---|---|
| Readable English text | Accurate source transcript and editable translation. |
| English subtitles | Timing, line breaks, speaker attribution and export format. |
| English voice for an existing video | Meaning, pronunciation, duration and authorized voice use. |
| Live meetings | Delay, participant access, supported language pair and privacy terms. |
Candidates worth evaluating
| Official product route | Workflow to investigate | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Rask AI | Existing audio/video localization | Actual Spanish–English pair, speaker handling and editable output. |
| ElevenLabs Dubbing | Dubbed audio/video | Voice authorization, pronunciation edits and final timing. |
| DeepL Voice | Live speech/meeting translation | Supported meeting route and language availability in the chosen plan. |
These are sourced candidates, not a ranked accuracy test. A provider’s total language count is not a guarantee for your accent, recording conditions or delivery format.
Verify the Spanish before judging the English
A mistranscribed name, number or negative statement can produce fluent but wrong English. Review the source transcript first. Then check whether the translation preserves meaning, including uncertainty, politeness, idioms and the technical vocabulary of the actual topic. A listener who knows both languages is especially useful for the final review.
A two-minute evaluation clip
- Use a recording you may process, containing two speakers and a short overlap.
- Include a proper noun, a date, a number and an idiom.
- Check the Spanish transcript against the recording.
- Review English meaning independently of voice quality.
- Inspect subtitle timing or dubbed duration in the final exported media.
- Record rework and cost per approved output minute.
Understand billable minutes
Confirm whether a plan meters uploaded source duration, target-language output, speaker work or re-generation. Multiple languages and repeated revisions can change the workload. Compare the current checkout for the exact route.
Rights and confidentiality
Permission to listen to a recording is not necessarily permission to upload, dub or republish it. Use authorized speakers and materials, and check the service terms for the account handling the recording. A voice-preservation feature should not be treated as permission to reproduce someone’s identity.
