OpenAI Notion Research Documentation Skill

Searches and compares authorized Notion pages, then turns findings into a brief or report with links back to the source material. It combines research structure with a connected workspace rather than acting as an unrestricted web researcher.

Publisher: Notion / OpenAI repository · Editorial profile by AI Tools Ratings · Review method

Not runtime tested; source-document review only. No security certification.

What task is this skill designed for?

Compare three internal project proposals and draft a decision brief that preserves disagreements and missing information.

What input and output should you expect?

Input: An authorized Notion page set, the decision question, the audience and whether the result should remain a local draft or be created in a specific Notion parent page.

Output: Expected, not independently tested: a structured brief with source links, findings, tradeoffs and open questions. Publishing to Notion requires the appropriate connected write capability.

What does it need to run?

A functioning Notion integration, workspace permissions and the bundled format and citation references. Tool names in the pinned instructions may differ from the connector currently available in your agent.

Authored for Codex in the OpenAI skills repository. This directory has not independently installed or executed the skill.

How should you approach installation?

  1. Inspect the pinned workflow, license and citation references.
  2. Connect a test Notion workspace with access limited to the intended pages.
  3. Start with a local brief and authorize workspace publication only after reviewing the content and destination.

Installation guide: discovery, dependencies and runtime checks

What files, accounts or data can it access?

Reads private pages accessible to the connected account and can create or update workspace pages if authorized. Keep the destination audience aligned with the source audience; a broad report page can accidentally expose restricted material.

What does the skill cost?

No separate skill price is listed. Notion plan access and agent usage have their own costs.

What are its limits and alternatives?

Search results may not cover unshared, archived or differently named pages. A source link does not verify the source’s factual accuracy or recency. Contradictory documents should remain visible rather than being collapsed into a confident single answer.

Use a local research brief if the task does not require a Notion workspace. Choose this skill for a documented internal knowledge set where citations and destination permissions can be checked.

What could you ask in a small trial?

Try this with a small sample:

Compare only these three Notion proposals. Produce a local decision draft with a citation for each substantive claim and an unresolved-questions section. Do not create or update workspace pages yet.

How would you verify the result?

  1. Check every conclusion against the cited page and section.
  2. Confirm contradictory dates or decisions are called out.
  3. Before publishing, verify destination permissions and inspect the resulting page after the write.

Use a baseline and record acceptance evidence before treating a successful task as a reliable workflow.

OpenAI Jupyter Notebook Skill

Scaffolds experiments and teaching notebooks using bundled templates. Its workflow separates exploratory analysis from tutorials and asks for small, reproducible steps rather than a single opaque notebook.

OpenAI Audio Transcribe Skill

Uses a bundled command-line helper to turn recordings into text, optionally with speaker labels. It separates transcript format and language choices from validation of what the recording actually says.
