Anyway: Uses, Pricing and Evaluation Guide
What is Anyway?
Anyway provides hosted checkout and subscription billing for software teams, including products purchased by AI agents. It is payment infrastructure for AI businesses, rather than a content-generation tool.
Pricing and access
Official fee documentation lists 3.9% plus $0.50 per successful transaction and no monthly or setup fee. Original processing fees are not returned on refunds. Standard payouts cost 1%, with a $10 minimum per request; agreement-specific and dispute fees can differ.
Who should consider it?
Consider it when you want a hosted payment link and recurring billing instead of building every checkout component. The vendor describes acting as merchant of record. Confirm whether your product type, business location, customer countries and payout method are supported before making it a critical sales dependency.
Evaluate agent purchases separately
A checkout that an agent can use still needs a clear authorization boundary. For an agent-assisted purchase, specify product, maximum amount, currency and whether renewal is allowed. Keep the receipt and order identifier attached to the original request. Do not give an agent open-ended purchasing authority simply because a checkout is machine-accessible.
A practical acceptance exercise
In an approved sandbox, prepare a low-value one-time order and a subscription scenario. Check duplicate callbacks, failed payment, cancellation and partial refund behavior. Verify that access is granted only after the expected payment event and that replaying an event cannot grant duplicate entitlements. Keep real charges disabled until this handoff is reviewed.
Budget and operational questions
Build a worksheet covering processing, payout frequency, refunds, disputes and currency conversion. A minimum payout charge affects small batches differently from larger ones. Ask how failed renewals, customer support and data exports are handled. A vendor tax-service claim should not be read as covering every obligation of your business.
Alternatives and selection
Compare merchant-of-record providers with payment processors on responsibility, supported regions and total settlement cost. n8n can connect order events to internal systems, but it is not a payment-provider replacement. Official fee schedule.
