Fathom suits people wanting meeting capture without building an API workflow. Teams should separate personal notes from shared libraries, CRM updates and coaching. Decide which meetings to capture before connecting calendars or enabling automatic recording, especially where external participants may join.
A decision-heavy trial
Run a practice meeting with a final decision, declined suggestion and an action whose owner changes. Correct a deadline near the end. Compare the summary to an answer key. A useful result preserves the final owner and date without promoting suggestions into commitments.
Inspect before sharing
Open the transcript or clip behind critical claims and check who can view the recording. Share a narrow excerpt when unrelated confidential details appear elsewhere. Have a colleague inspect access from another account; the owner view cannot establish what guests or external recipients see.
Capture and automation limits
The reviewed page labels bot-free capture as a Mac beta; do not assume all devices support it. CRM updates introduce write permissions. Test field mapping, duplicate handling and reversal with dummy records before allowing meeting output to modify customer information automatically.
